Eligibility

Applicant Criteria

  • Applicant (Production Company) registered in Southeast European countries Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Romania or Bulgaria.*

  • The director or co-director must identify as a woman.

  • The project must have at least one more key artistic contributor (scriptwriter, director of photography, editor) who also identifies as a woman

  • The project budget must be realistic and at least EUR 100,000 in total

* To be eligible for The UNIQA SEE FUTURE Foundation – Female Filmmakers Support Programme (FFSP), the applicant (Production Company) must be registered in one of the six specified Southeast European countries. However, this requirement does not extend to the nationality or residency of the film’s director. In other words, while the application must be submitted by the company from the listed countries, the director of the project itself may come from any country, provided that the film project is aligned with the program’s goals and criteria. At least a co-producer or one more key artistic contributor must come from UNIQA SEE countries.

Project Criteria

The project must be a feature length (narrative, documentary or essay) that is in the production or postproduction stage.

Application Process

Submission Deadline

Applications must be submitted by the 19th of February. Late applications will not be considered.

  • Logline

  • Synopsis (up to 300 characters, including spaces)

  • Script (current status of the script)

  • Directorial Statement (up to 1,500 characters, including spaces)

  • Motivational Letter of the Director

  • Personal Motivation Letter detailing the career development plans of the key artistic contributor (up to 1,500 characters, including spaces)

  • Moodboard

  • Director’s Biography and Filmography

  • Biography and Filmography of the Key Artistic Contributor

  • Links to Previous Films of the director

Submission Method

The application must be completed via form available on official website.

Selection Criteria

Artistic Quality

  • The originality and artistic merit of the project.

  • The potential impact and relevance of the project in the context of Southeast European cinema.

Project Viability

  • The feasibility of the production plan including budget and timeline.

  • The applicant’s track record and ability to complete the project.

Social Impact

The potential of the project to address social issues or contribute to cultural dialogue.

Career Development

The programme will provide career development support through the CineLink Industry Training and Skills Programme for selected participants from UNIQA SEE countries.

Financial Support

Funding Amount

  • The program will provide financial assistance for selected projects.

  • Narrative – from 50.000 EUR up to 100.000,00 EUR

  • Documentary - from 30.000,00 EUR to 60.000,00 EUR

  • Essay – from 15.000,00 EUR to 30.000,00 EUR

Disbursement

  • Funds will be disbursed in one instalment.

  • A detailed financial report and receipts will be required for fund disbursement.

Responsibilities of the Grantees

Project Reporting

  • Grantees must provide regular progress reports, including financial and production updates.

  • Final project report and a copy of the completed film must be submitted within 2 months of project completion.

Acknowledgement

Grantees must acknowledge the support of the Uniqa Foundation in all promotional materials and credits of the film.

Rights and Permissions

The Uniqa Foundation reserves the right to use excerpts from the film and project information for promotional purposes.

General Conditions

Compliance

  • The project must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

  • Any changes to the project scope must be approved by the Uniqa Foundation.

Disqualification

Applications that do not meet the eligibility criteria or fail to provide required materials will be disqualified.

Decision

The decision of the selection committee is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the outcome.

Privacy and Confidentiality

All personal and project-related information will be handled confidentially and used solely for the selection process.

Submission of the project is considered as acceptance of the regulations.
